loma prieta 2

This one's in gouache. I find it a little harder to get punchy colours with it as a medium but it's nice that you can basically get completely flat colour without brush strokes or anything. obviously this photo was poorly lit so the colours are kinda different.

MORE PAINTINzzzzzzzzzzzz YAWN

felt good again today but this afternoon went back to feeling pretty terrible. Tried to draw some comic stuff, story idea seemed sort of interesting but I just can't draw. Had end-of-year crit thing with two tutors, they were very polite and nice to me but basically assured me I probably won't get a first (more astute readers will already have figured that out!) and didn't have much good stuff to say, reflecting in general how I've felt about this year. I think I just can't animate, I'm too easily tired by the workload.

Oh well, you know what they say: Nini de meni, pistis, elpis, agapi, ta tria tafta, mizon de touton i agapi. ;_;

MORE PAINTING

Some more paintings, the second one is a portrait of a friend, a series I'm hoping to continue.

I'm going to a see a friend from the Courtauld Institute tomorrow - the students there get the chance, at the end of the year, to put together a show including both their own work and work produced by friends of theirs. as far as I know it's less of a typical end-of-year art course show and more of a fine art exhibition. I'll be bringing some of the better paintings I've been doing this week in the hope that they'll like them enough to show them.

PAINTINGS

not sleeping very well, painting quite a lot but not enough to justify only painting. generally a little depressed.
